Book successfully launched

This volume covers the mining history of Ipswich for the period 1920 – 2000 (Prof. Ray Whitmore has written three volumes covering the coal mining history of Queensland up to 1925.) is planned. The book is proposed to be launched for 150 years of Municipality of Ipswich in 2010. The proposed title was "No Easy Field - Ipswich Coal Mining from the 1920's" and is being commissioned to be written by Alan Murray. The writing has been completed and the book will be launched at the above time and place.  Copies of the book are available from the Ipswich Visitors Information Centre, 14 Queen Victoria Parade, Queens Park, Phone 07 3281 0555 (Brisbane Rd) Ispwich.
